With 206 sessions (and counting!) VMware Explore 2025 coming up in Las Vegas here in August is shaping up to offer a huge amount of content – especially around the recently GAed VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0.
First – if you haven’t already registration for VMware Explore is here.
In no particular order, here’s the sessions I’m looking forward to attending:
A New Era of Visibility for VMware vSAN Using VMware Cloud Foundation Operations [CLOB1062LV]
I’ve been using vSAN now for many years. And while it’s a great technology sometimes telemetry from the service wasn’t the best. Looking forward to learning about the tighter integration with VCF Operations and what that can do to help troubleshoot and gauge performance.
Deploying Minimal VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 Lab [CLOB1201LV]
I always love these “homelab” type sessions showing you the tricks and techniques you can use to learn all about VCF without a large investment in hardware.
Design and Architect: Best Practices for Deploying VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 [CLOB1427LV]
As an architect I’m always looking for more information and guidance on the best way to deploy VCF, and if VCF 9.0 and the changes the more we all can learn and share the more productive everyone will be.
Getting Started with VMware Cloud Foundation CLI and API Help Center [CLOB1762LV]
The UI is great – but over the last few years I’ve gotten more into the CLI and especially Terraform and it’s greatly enhanced my productivity. If you haven’t started using these tools yet – now is the time.
I’ve used the Holodeck to install previous versions of VCF on everything from my homelab, to bare metal servers in the datacenter, to even once ESXi VMs in VMware Cloud Director. If you don’t know about how this is speed up testing and learning – now is the perfect chance.
VMware Cloud Foundation Network Design [CLOT1276LV]
The more you know about networking in VCF – the more you find the true magic of what this integration can do for you and your environment. Must attend session if you are involved with networking for your organization. And must attend for everyone else to since cloud is a networking problem everyone needs knowledge about.
The Journey to Micro-Segmentation: From Zero to Hero [NSLT1545LV]
Micro-segmentation seems to be one of those things that everyone talks about doing but no one really understands or does well. A great session to understand what this truly means and how you can begin the journey in your own environment.
Hardening and Securing VMware Cloud Foundation [CLOT1035LV]
Security is on everyones mind – including mine. With a new version of VCF – we have new techniques and requirements for hardening and looking forward to learning more in Vegas about this topic.
Adopt VMware vSAN the Right Way: Technical Guidance for VMware Cloud Foundation [CLOT1063LV]
Did I mention earlier I’m big into vSAN? Well here’s another great session on getting the most out of vSAN – starting with the beginning of making sure you start on the right path from day one.
Shaping the Future of Private Cloud and AI Innovation [GEN2027LV]
The general session. Just one simply everyone should attend to hear from Broadcom leadership on strategy and direction.

Happy exploring!
